Marking its tenth anniversary, independent publishing house Inkandescent has launched the [Green Light Prize](https://www.inkandescent.co.uk/green-light?ref=gtv.blue) for fiction.

The winning writer will receive a publishing contract, editorial development and support, distribution, and an event to launch their book.

Inkandescent are seeking bold and compelling novels from voices that remain underrepresented in publishing, with a particular focus on commercial genre fiction including thrillers, horror, crime, romance, fantasy, science-fiction, speculative, and weird fiction. Inkandescent are especially drawn to work that is dark or transgressive.

“We believe there are powerful stories that too often go undiscovered because they don’t fit established expectations...” says Justin David, publisher at Inkandescent. “The Green Light Prize exists to find voices that deserve not only to be heard, but championed, cherished and celebrated.”

[Deadline for submissions is 1 June, 2027.](https://www.inkandescent.co.uk/green-light?ref=gtv.blue)
