### Early life

Born in 1904 in Paris, Guérin came from a wealthy, educated family.

Guérin studied political science and began writing and publishing from a young age.

### Activism

Guérin wrote extensively, advocating against colonialism.

Having travelled extensively through Germany in the 1930s, Guérin wrote about the rise of fascism and nazism.

Guérin advocated for homosexual equality to be part of the priorities for the workers' movement .

### Sexuality

Guérin identified as a bisexual man.

His writing highlighted the discrimination that sexual minorities suffered in radical leftist and progressive movements.

Guérin was actively involved in the creation of the gay liberation movement that emerged in France.
