Sweden is a socially liberal country, and sets the standard as to what LGBTQ equality can look like.

The recent [ILGA report on LGBTQ Equality in Europe](https://rainbowmap.ilga-europe.org/countries/sweden/?ref=gtv.blue) ranked Sweden 9th overall. With a total score of 68.43%, Sweden scored strongly on the criteria of Family and also Civil Society Space but lost points on all other criteria.
