### Is it legal to be gay?

It’s legal to be gay, and have same-sex sexual activity.

Since 2007, the age of consent has been the same for gay and straight sex.

### Is there anti-discrimination legislation in place?

There is no form of anti-discrimination protection for LGBTI people.

### Is there marriage equality?

There is no legal recognition of same-sex relationships in any form.

In 2013, the Minister for Internal Affairs issued a statement confirming that same-sex marriages were not to be performed by pastors in Vanuatu.

### What’s it like for LGBTQ people who live there?

There is no active gay scene in Vanuatu, and Vanuatu is a socially conservative country.
