Grabbys Spotlight: Danny Azcona

As we count down towards the Grabby Awards in Torremolinos, we caught up with Danny Azcona.

Danny is nominated in the Best Bottom category.

You've said that winning a Grabby Award would make you proud to represent Mexico in the adult entertainment industry - how did you discover and start to explore that performing on camera and content creation was something that you're passionate about?

I would feel incredibly proud to represent Mexico in the adult entertainment industry. I would love to take home this major award as a Mexican adult performer, since we have so few representatives from Mexico in Europe - especially in the international scene.

For me, it is really important to show that it’s not just about Latinos in general, but that we Mexicans also exist. There are many of us who have worked really hard for a long time to be here today answering this question.

I discovered that I was passionate about performing on camera and creating content when I was 18. I started out as an underwear model, then I became a go-go dancer, and - little by little - I moved into spaces where I could showcase my body, because I love it.

I’ve always believed that the body is art, and adult entertainment - seen from a more artistic perspective - has always been present in all cultures. For me, it’s very beautiful to be part of this story, continuing this legacy of eroticism and sexuality.

I truly believe that expressing our sexuality is not something bad.

On top of that, I’ve always loved acting - it’s been really funny to discover my true profession in adult acting.

Do you consider yourself to be an exhibitionist?

I don’t really consider myself an exhibitionist. For me, adult entertainment is not exhibitionism as such. I think it goes beyond that.

We have to be very strong mentally in order to show our sexuality, to show who we are, and to open up without any kind of mask.

I really like that people discover me in an environment where we are all vulnerable, and in that vulnerability, I take the lead.

What was your relationship with your body like when you were growing up?

When I was young, I was overweight, I was short, I had acne.

As I started becoming aware of my body and working on it, I then took acting classes. I took acting classes at one of the best theatre schools in Mexico - they made me feel that my body is art.

Serious acting work helped me work on my mindset, and a gym routine helped me strengthen my body.

How has your work in the adult entertainment industry changed your relationship with your body and the way that you experience intimacy?

Because I started very young, I've explored my sexuality within the adult industry.

The way I experience intimacy has changed. Having the alter ego of Danny Azcona, allows me to switch into that mode - to be something I’m not in private life.

I always try to keep some things just for me—things that I enjoy—without thinking that I’m performing.

The most important thing is to never confuse the alter ego with the actual person.

What makes a good collab?

In my experience, collaborations are very important for content creators because they allow us to connect with new audiences, grow together, and create something that wouldn’t exist if we worked alone. But a great collab only works when there is real chemistry, trust, and professionalism.

I’ve always believed that if we want the adult industry to be taken seriously, and to break the stigma around our work, we - as creators - have to treat it like a real profession and respect the craft.

Beyond the Grabby Awards, what else is on your vision-board for the months ahead?

I want to dive deeper into creating much more produced content. Lately, I’ve been more mindful and visionary in how I film and create, always aiming for top-quality production.

Another project I have is launching a podcast. I feel that content creators have a responsibility to educate people - we are sexual educators. People can see, discover, experiment, and even educate themselves about their sexuality—seeing what they like, what they don’t, and what lies beyond.

On top of that, I would love to help boost the work of Mexican actors and content creators in the international industry - perhaps creating a small production where we make high-quality adult films so that Mexico continues to be a global competitor.
