You've said that winning a Grabby Award would be important to you because it would put you in the spotlight - how did you discover and start to explore that performing on camera and content creation was something that you're passionate about?
It started quite randomly - I just met this very handsome guy who told me he was doing OnlyFans. He asked me if I wanted to do a video with him, and I said - mainly because I liked the guy.
It was fun. It was a very nice video. It just started from there.
Other guys saw the video and they wanted to make videos with me - all of a sudden, I was being asked by very hot guys to make videos with them. That gave me a sense of empowerment.
I'm not a tall guy or strong - I'm a rather short, skinny guy. Filming helped me feel attractive. That motivated me to keep going. Also, you start meeting interesting people - there is this sense of community among content creators - everyone was very welcoming to me.
I enjoyed the travel, the filming, the performing, the networking. It's a win-win situation because you also make some profit. That's also a factor. You have fun and you also can make some money.
Do you consider yourself an exhibitionist?
I don't think so. I used to be a very shy guy. Also, I experienced a lot of rejection because I'm short and skinny and a bit femme. I wasn't getting many dates.
At some point, I realised that the guys who didn't want to go out with me were the same guys that were chasing me whenever I was at a sauna or a sex party.
It was when I started making the videos and started attracting followers that I started enjoying being in front of the camera and being the centre of attention.
But to be honest, Eric Lima is an alter ego - a character that I created for the videos. In real life, I'm kind of a quiet guy, but when I'm in front of the camera, I transform.
Have you always been comfortable getting your clothes off in front of others?
I've been going to saunas since I am 18 - getting naked has never been a problem.
How has your work in the adult entertainment industry changed your relationship with your body and the way that you experience intimacy?
I've always really cared about living healthily - doing sports. I don't smoke, I don't drink much alcohol, and I've always worked out.
Since I began filming, I now have a more critical eye - not that I want to have the perfect body, but I take more care of my body.
Regarding intimacy, sometimes it's a problem. You can't compare the sex you have on camera to normal sex.
In my case, for example, I do a lot of threesome videos and gang-bang videos. That's not the kind of sex that I have in real life.
Also, when it comes to dating, I often get comments like: "I don't know if you're going to want to date me because I don't have a monster cock" or "I know you have sex with very hot guys and I'm not a hot" - but the guys that I have sex with in videos is not reality, it's not what I'm looking for in a real person.
Beyond the Grabby Awards, what else is on your vision-board for the months ahead?
I expect to keep on travelling because I enjoy going to different cities. I want to get to know more exciting people.
I was recently in Peru and I did a couple of very hot gang-bang videos - that was a great experience and I would love to go to Mexico, as well as Brazil.
I want to continue just doing what I like, the way I like it. That's very important to me. I have managed to create my own little world where I'm the star. I'm enjoying life at the moment.
