Gus Kenworthy confirmed to compete in Winter Olympics
Representing Great Britain, Milan 2026 will be his fourth Olympic competition.
With the opening ceremony of Milan 2026 taking place on 6 February, we've now got confirmation that Gus Kenworthy will be hitting the slopes of the Winter Olympics.
Kenworthy will be representing Great Britain - this will be 34-year-old Kenworthy's fourth Olympics competition.
With his success at the elite level of support and his strong social media game, Kenworthy has become one of the highest profile queer sportspeople in the world.
“For men, sport has such a machismo attitude around it - a lot of gay men stop pursuing sport because of it...” Kenworthy explained in a recent media interview. “I’ve met so many people who told me that they were collegiate level, or on the road to the Olympics, NBA or NFL, and they stopped completely. It didn’t feel safe, they didn’t feel welcome. That’s why it’s important to speak up on it.”
After a high-profile relationship with actor Matthew Wilkas, Kenworthy is currently dating Andrew Rigby.
