What's on in London: Uncultivated Gods
A solo show by Kevin Kane.
Uncultivated Gods is a pop-up solo exhibition from Kevin Kane - only on for a few days in the Hoxton Arches, just next door to Hoxton Overground station.
Using painting, sculpture, and installation, Kane is exploring the intersection of his Catholic upbringing with his queer identity - challenging the norms and power structures that dictate how we are expected to live, love, and attain happiness.
These are mostly big-scale works, using the fluidity of impressionism and bold colours to give a sense of the people and energy Kane is capturing on canvas.
I particularly liked the triptych of go-go boys as angels.

I also liked the way that he represented intimacy between men in the Heaven series.
