Naked Men Talking: Port and Poetry
Get your clothes off and get a bit high-brow.
I'm always happy to toot my own horn, but - objectively - our first Port & Poetry evening was a total smash!
To be honest, it was a bit of experiment. What if we got some guys together, took our clothes off, drank port, and read poetry?
For me, that's an event that ticks a lot of boxes, but would anyone else be into it?
Well, yes. Yes they were.
Nine guys gathered together in my flat in Hoxton on a Thursday night. There was port, there was cheese, and there was poetry.
It was a nice size group - not everyone had brought a poem to read, some were just happy to listen and take part in the discussion.
The poems shared ranged from classics to contemporary, and even a bit of haiku.
